Overview

WearCheckPM LLC was established in 2009 as a joint venture between Dubai-based engineering company, Precision Machinery (PM), and WearCheck Africa.

WearCheck Africa, with its head office in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, was established in 1974. The company has accumulated years of valuable experience in the predictive maintenance industry and earned the title, “The Leaders in Oil and Fuel Analysis”. It provides the pre-eminent oil condition monitoring service on the continent, processing in excess of half a million samples per annum throughout South Africa, Zambia, Dubai and India.

WearCheckPM is an ISO 9001 registered laboratory based in Dubai and serves the earthmoving, industrial, transport, shipping, aircraft and electrical industries throughout the United Arab Emirates through the scientific analysis of used oil from mechanical and electrical systems.

Analysis of oil samples are conducted in the Dubai laboratory with results and reports generated from the WearCheck head office in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa.

The WearCheck PM’s team is headed by Operations Manager, Vinod Athavia overseeing the operations and marketing. Laboratory assistants include Sailee Vanjare, Praveen Sumathi and Girish Kumar.

One of WearCheck’s customers is Aggreko, the world’s biggest supplier of fuel-fired power generators, whose head office is also in Dubai. Volvo has expanded the service agreement they have with WearCheck in South Africa, to WearCheck PM to cover their operations in the Middle East. Other OEMs utilising WearCheck PM’s services are Komatsu/Galadari, Cummins, Atlas Copco to name a few.

‘The Middle East is an exciting market with huge potential,’ says WearCheck managing director, Neil Robinson.
